On 7 March, 2018, Dr. Csaba Rada, Head of Mission held a meeting with Adv. Anton G. Salman Mayor of Bethlehem. The Hungarian Head of Mission underlined during the discussions that Bethlehem plays a special role in the Hungarian-Palestinian bilateral relationship. This is exemplified not only by our cultural programmes, humanitarian and development aid projects in the city, but the fact that Hungary established an Honorary Consulate in Bethlehem in 2009. Hungary provides support for the Christian communities and Churches in the Middle East. In this framework the Government of Hungary offered financial support for the reconstruction of the Church of the Nativity earlier this year.
