On 14 February, 2018, the Representative Office of Hungary in Ramallah with the cooperation of the Commercial Attaché and the Science and Technology (SaT) Attaché of the Embassy of Hungary in Tel Aviv held a business forum for Palestinian businessmen at the Hebron Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI).

During his opening speech, Mr. Ghazi Herbawi, Chairman of the HCCI said that the parties had reviewed the possibilities for economic cooperation and this current event is a continuation of that previous discussion. In his response Dr. Csaba Rada, Head of the Representative Office stressed that beside the political relations we gave utmost importance for deepening the economic cooperation as well. Both of them expressed their hope that this event would be the first step towards a direct contact and co-operation between Hungarian and Palestinian companies.

After the opening speeches the Commercial Attaché and the SaT Attaché held a presentation, in which they highlighted bilateral trade opportunities with Hungarian businesses. They underlined the importance of research and development, which makes it possible that the products would be not only made, but also invented in Hungary. Following the presentation the two Attachés identified specific fields of cooperation with the participating businessmen.
