1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight exhibition in the Dar el-Nadwa cultural center of Bethlehem

Between 24-30 October, 2016 the Representative Office in Ramallah organized an exhibition on the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight in the Dar el-Nadwa Cultural Centre of Bethlehem. The opening ceremony was attended by a number of Palestinian civil society organizations, the representatives of the city’s municipality, Palestinian professionals graduated in Hungary and others. Dr. Géza Mihályi, Head of the Representative Office highlighted in his speech the historic significance of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight, and expressed his thanks for the support of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight 60th Anniversary Memorial Board.

National Day Reception Honoring the 60th Anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight

On 20 October, 2016 the Representative Office held a National Day reception. Dr. Géza Mihályi, Head of the Representative Office highlighted in his speech the historic significance of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight, and expressed his thanks for the support of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight 60th Anniversary Memorial Board. H. E. Abeer Odeh, Minister of Economy of Palestine was present among the 120 guests, and Her Excellency delivered a speech on this occasion.

Sufian Sultan’s visit in Budapest

On 13 October, 2016, Sándor Fazekas, Minister of Agriculture of Hungary met with his Palestinian partner Minister of Agriculture Sufian Sultan in Budapest and the two Ministers held talks about the opportunities of agricultural cooperation. During the meeting they signed a cooperation agreement between the Hungarian and Palestinian Ministries of Agriculture.

Developing the equipments of the Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem

On 5 October, 2016 Dr. Géza Mihályi, Head of the Representative Office of Hungary in Ramallah handed over the newly procured ECG device to Mr. Denis Sevaistre, Director General of the Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem. The equipment was purchased from the 5000 EUR international development cooperation aid of Hungary.

Visit of the Budapest Waterworks’ experts in Palestine

On 27-28 September, 2016 experts of the Budapest Waterworks visited Palestine at the invitation of the Palestinian Water Authority. During the two-day long professional program the Hungarian delegation met with Minister Mazen Ghoneim, Head of the Palestinian Water Authority, held talks with their Palestinian counterparts and visited water facilities in order to explore opportunities for co-operation between the two parties.
